A new writing group in our Jewellery Quarter Emporium on the 1st Sunday of every month from 11-1pm ran by Jo Skelt. Jo’s a writing tutor at MAC Birmingham and teacher of Creative Journalling and Writing Your Travels. As well as teaching she’s been commissioned to write for the Phoenix Theatre Leicester and for the Arts Council Poetry Encounters project so you really are in pretty good hands. Jo’s also recently run a Birmingham-wide writing group called Writing Around Town. She’s now bringing her enthusiasm and experience in to the café, with a pen in one hand, and a coffee and cake in the other.
Each meeting will consist of varied writing exercises in response to the fascinating local environment. These will include draft poems, short prose and stories as well as journal writing and there is no experience necessary. Cost £12 per session.
